This object was used for typing and writing. It was the standard typewriter in the late 1800’s-early 1900’s. This was only used in businesses and then was incorporates into the educational system for teaching typing (1900’s). It was not a common object found in homes. It was later replaced by the word processor and then the modern day computer.
